I have used Juice fasts or “Reboots” for weight loss however, one of the benefits of fasting is changing the bad eating habits that I have developed and becoming acquainted with food allergies. For example, I usually fast with freshly made juices during this time of year because the ingredients are so plentiful to my geographic area. Also, Autumn lends itself to a new routine.
Somehow I develop an addiction to ice cream during the hot months. The juice fast helps to break the sweet tooth and when I do revert to eating a sugary dessert I get a migraine headache. Am I allergic to refined sugar? I’m not sure but I do feel better when the quantities are severely limited. Also, Diabetes Type 2 runs in my family so the ice cream habit is definitely not a healthy one for me.
If you already have a chronic condition check with your doctor before beginning any weight loss or fasting plan. If approved, try a juice reboot for 2 or 3 days to begin with, then gradually add healthy foods back into your diet. Your body will tell you which ones cause an unpleasant reaction so that you can avoid them.
